I Thought I Knew Thee

Sunbeam shining through the clouds over city.

I thought I knew thee so well
Thou were the powerful one
who can hold the world
sometimes I want to be like thee
to ascertain that I’m strong
thou could not see the wood for the trees
thou believed thou are greater than God
It was thy personal probity
It’s been like a cat on a hot tin roof all-day
if I’m with thee.
